Temporary Part-Time

Compensation: $20.13 to $21.13 per hour

JOB OVERVIEW:

As a Four Diamond property, The Westin Anaheim Resort is committed to delivering a refined, elevated, and highly personalized dining experience. The Outlet Server is responsible for executing this standard across all Food & Beverage outlets, including Tangerine Room, Bar 1030, RISE Rooftop, and Bella’s Splash Pool. This role requires a polished hospitality professional with strong food, wine, and beverage knowledge, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to anticipate guest needs. Servers are expected to create memorable dining experiences through confident menu navigation, curated recommendations, and seamless service execution while maintaining a clean, organized, and controlled dining environment.

Responsibilities & Service Expectations

  •     Deliver elevated, attentive, and personalized service aligned with Four Diamond standards
  •     Demonstrate strong knowledge of food, wine, spirits, and cocktails, including ingredients, preparation methods, and pairings
  •     Confidently guide guests through the menu, offering thoughtful recommendations and intentional upselling
  •     Accurately take and input orders, ensuring proper pacing and timing of courses
  •     Ensure all food and beverage items are delivered accurately, timely, and presented to standard
  •     Maintain full awareness of table progress and anticipate guest needs without prompting
  •     Actively run food throughout the shift and support overall service flow beyond assigned tables
  •     Assist in other service areas as needed to maintain seamless operations
  •     Pre-bussing is required and must be maintained continuously throughout service
  •     Maintain a clean, polished, and visually refined section always
  •     Communicate effectively with kitchen and bar teams to ensure accuracy, timing, and quality
  •     Recognize and engage guests immediately, maintaining strong floor awareness and presence
  •     Communicate any guest concerns or service disruptions to the Manager on Duty promptly

Service Standards

  •     Immediate guest acknowledgement with professionalism and confidence
  •     Clear and knowledgeable menu guidance, including food and beverage pairings
  •     Beverage-forward approach, offering cocktails, wine, and non-alcoholic options early
  •     Intentional course pacing based on guest experience
  •     Continuous table maintenance and attention to detail
  •     Professional and timely check presentation
  •     Warm and genuine guest departure and invitation to return

Availability & Scheduling Expectations

  •     Part-time team members must maintain availability for a minimum of three (3) shifts per week
    (Example: one Tuesday AM shift equals one shift)
  •     Weekend availability is mandatory, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, as well as all holidays
  •     Availability must remain consistent for a minimum of six (6) months
  •     Exceptions for school-related changes require approval and a valid class schedule
  •     All availability changes are subject to Department Head approval only

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this role, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  •     Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
  •     Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 40 pounds regularly and up to 300 pounds with assistance or equipment
  •     Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach overhead or below as needed during service
  •     Ability to perform repetitive motions, including frequent use of hands, arms, and upper body
  •     Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment with continuous movement
  •     Ability to tolerate environmental conditions, including temperature fluctuations (hot and cold), noise, and high-traffic areas
  •     Ability to remain stationary for periods of time and move throughout all areas of the operation as needed
  •     Ability to effectively communicate with guests and team members in a busy and dynamic environment

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum 2–3 years of serving experience, preferably in an upscale or high-volume environment
  • Strong working knowledge of wine, spirits, and food pairings
  • Ability to confidently describe menu items and guide guest decisions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and service execution
  • Ability to multitask and perform in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional appearance and polished service presence
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong understanding of service industry practices, policies, and sanitation standards
  • Proficiency in POS and computer systems, including Micros and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license if required for role responsibilities
  • Food Handler’s Certification required
  • TIPS certification preferred
