The Houseperson role supports the Room Attendants and services public areas to maintain cleanliness throughout the hotel.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Sweep and mop floors, vacuum carpet, wash walls, dust furniture and light fixtures, empties trash containers, wipe guest door
• and remove cobwebs and other surface areas of the hotel at the request of the Director of Housekeeping or Housekeeping
• Supervisors and Managers.
• At 9:00 AM, attend a department standup meeting, stretching exercises and pick up keys, tablet and a daily assignment from your supervisor. (Ensure to turn ON your tablet)
• Complete All guest requests on a timely manner, in five to fifteen minutes and ensure to close the ticket when completed.
•  At the beginning of the shift, walk assigned floors/buildings and pick up trash from outside the guest room.
• Assist Room Attendants on assigned floors to strip room bedding, throw out trash, etc. Minimum five rooms per RA.
• Ensure linen closets on assigned floors have all necessary items for stocking room attendant cart. (Linen & all other room amenities.)
• Restock Room Attendant carts with linen and other room amenities throughout the day and when needed. Visit RA carts every two hours to ensure they have all material necessary.
• Do not leave laundry carts full of linen/trash and other amenities in the guest corridors. (maintain cartwheels clean at all times)
• Remove all linen & trash from linen closets, room attendant carts at the end of each shift.
• Empty trash containers/trashcans from the guest corridor and wipe down as needed.
• Remove trash to loading dock/dumpster and remove trash and linen from linen carts.
• Clean and service Room Attendant vacuums on assigned on a weekly basis and when needed.
• Clean escalators and guest corridors and always maintain clean. (When mopping, ensure to placed Wet Caution Signs) Always.
• Deliver miscellaneous goods and supplies to guest rooms. (Guest Requests)
• Make up and deliver roll-away beds.
• Assist Room Inspectors with moving furniture, supplies and equipment as requested.
• Perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products to adhere to health standards. (bottle must be labeled)
• Perform other duties as requested, such as cleaning unexpected spills and executing special guest requests.
• Shampoo carpets, clean guest room windows as requested and/or scheduled by management.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• High School or equivalent education preferred.
• Prior hospitality experience; at least one year preferred.

This job requires ability to perform the following:

Essential:

• Basic reading, writing, and math skills. Some housekeeping experience and ability to speak English preferred.
• This job requires the ability to perform the following:
• Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds and pushing/pulling up to approximately 200 pounds
• Frequently standing up and moving about the facility
• Frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility
• Frequently bending, stooping, and kneeling
